Janet Baker an Australian Speech Therapist and Family Therapist, and the author of Psychosocial Management of Voice Disorders, called out for more psychological training in the Speech Therapy profession, calling it an “ethical obligation.” This was in 2010, and unfortunately in 2024, not much has moved since then as practitioners still remain siloed.
Join manual therapist and voice teacher Robert Price who was head of voice at RADA for many years to chat with Elissa Finn, a Highly Specialised Speech Therapist and Singing Voice Specialist, and Stephen King co-founder of Vocal Health Education and Director of the Voice Care Centre to wade through the murky waters of who should be doing what, and when.
This lively discussion seeks to highlight the philosophical issues around interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary work for voice rehabilitation.
