Barbara Camille Tanze was born in Munich and grew up in Germany, the United States, and Switzerland. Since 2006 she has been based in Slovenia. She holds a Master’s degree in Solo Singing and Vocal Pedagogy from the Conservatoire de Lausanne HEM and has performed across Europe as an opera and concert singer, appearing in leading roles and stage productions. Since 2004 she has taught solo singing and diction at public and private music institutions.

Barbara specializes in breathing coordination, vocal anatomy, and performance. She holds advanced certification in MDH Breathing Coordination and has completed additional training in Walt Fritz’s Myofascial Release and Laryngeal Massage and Meredith Colby’s Neuro-Vocal Method. She is an external collaborator with the Institute for Modern Vocal Training in Málaga, where she teaches functional anatomy and breathing coordination to future vocal teachers. She also contributed to the online course Art of Breath, focused on breathing mechanics and performance. She is also a frequent guest on podcasts such as *Beth Roars*, *The Mindstrong Project*, *Music Mind and Movement*, and *The Sound Singer*.

Alongside her work with singers, Barbara researches optimal breathing for athletic performance and works with both amateur and professional athletes. She runs workshops for sports organizations and conducts metabolic testing using the PNOE system. In 2024 she completed a three-year program at the Academy of Manual Therapy in Ljubljana.
