Honorary Fellow
This level of membership is reserved for those who are leaders in the field of Voice Rehabilitation and Therapy after dedicating years of their professional lives to helping care for peoples’ voices.
This is an invited membership level, with 3 Honorary Fellowships awarded each year.
Our first Honorary Fellowship was awarded to Christina Shewell on the 30th January 2022.


Vocal Health Aware and Institutional Membership
As our mission of healthy voice education reaches far and wide, we are now making links with colleges, institutions and theatres.
If an institution is Vocal Health Aware they will:
- Commit to an annual 2 hour vocal health seminar for all staff and students provided by a Voice Rehabilitation Specialist
- Have at least one Vocal Health First Aider on site
- Have clear policy for onward referral to a voice specialist team and laryngology services

Am I covered for Public Liability?
Yes, our cover includes Public Liability (Indemnity Limit £5,000,000 per insured person or business: £10,000,000 available on request)
Am I covered to use the vocal health knowledge I have learned through Vocal Health Education?
Yes, we offer Medical Malpractice Cover & Professional Indemnity (Indemnity Limit £5,000,000: £10,000,000 available on request)
What if I am affiliated and sell products such as straws or other items for voice therapy, am I covered?
Products Liability (for items sold in connection with your insured business)
What if I don’t have a physical studio but work from home, am I insured?
You are covered when working from home, at a client’s home, or at any owned, rented or hired premises anywhere in the world excluding the USA/Canada
What if I accidentally damage a studio or clinic space I am renting?
You are covered for damage to rented/hired third party premises
What if i drop my keyboard on the way to teaching?
Accidental loss or damage to your business stock and equipment (Overall Limit £5,000: Single item limit £1,000: excluding mobile phones)
What if a Social Media post is interpreted wrong, and someone intends to sue me for slander or libel?
If somebody misinterprets your post and threatens legal action, you are covered for:
- Libel & Slander
- Breach of confidentiality, negligence or breach of duty of care
- Website and e-mail infringement arising from the promotion, marketing and advertising of your insured business
What if I need to take something to court?
Additional Legal Expenses up to £100,000 (Currently only available in the UK & Ireland)

Is teaching online insured?
On-line teaching and pre-recorded teaching is included. However, you should also consider additional media insurance, which is beyond the scope of this insurance
