The course
Module 1 – Online Theory
The online training is provided by a series of filmed presentations by experts in all the fields of knowledge related to vocal health and habilitation. There are 80 films, each one is between 15 and 30 mins long. Each film has an accompanying handout for you to download and keep. The cost of the online part of the training is £347 (incl VAT).
There will be a multiple-choice style test with 100 questions to complete at the end of this online course. This quiz must be completed prior to attending the in-person course.
Module 2 + 3 – In-Person
Date: 16th – 20th January 2023
Location: Adelaide
Modules 2 and 3 of our VHP journey would normally be conducted over zoom. This time we’re coming to you in Adelaide! You’ll have five days of intensive sessions with Dr Jenevora Williams and Stephen King. These will include: Reflecting Detective sessions, Module 2 group analysis of case studies, Person Centred workshops, Mentored lessons as coaching triads – each person will be a teacher, client and observer, in rotation. You will also have an extra learning workshop and group feedback.
Module 4 – Online Assessment
- A 50-minute debrief with Dr Jenevora Williams, who will be examining your reflective journal (already submitted) and asking questions about your current knowledge.
- This session is intended as a moment of deep reflection on your journey through Modules 1-3, examining what you have learned and what may have changed within your teaching practice.
- If this is successful, the candidate will be awarded the Vocal Habilitation Professional qualification, which is valid for three years.
- At the end of the three-year period, the VHP will need to have a refresher interview with one of the specialist assessors, if this goes well, the qualification will be renewed for another three years.
Who can attend this course?
In order to participate in this live, in-person training, you will need to have completed the Module 1 online learning section of the VHP course. After the week in January, you will have a month to finish writing up your reflective journal before doing your Module 4 assessment online and completing your VHP training.
